Iceland, one more time.

I'm going back to Iceland in 2027 with a new small group. Hot springs, sauna, cold water, and a whole week to slow down.

A week in the water

What an Iceland bathing week feels like

Easing into a still geothermal lagoon between mossy boulders
Easing into the first soak
Bathers soaking in a steaming hot river in a green valley
A hot river, reached on foot
Small wooden seaside sauna huts under a green aurora
Seaside sauna huts
Five women walking hand in hand into a cold lake
The cold part
A woman stepping out of a dark timber sauna with light slanting through the slats
Heat, then quiet
The northern lights over a lit geothermal lagoon in the snow
Night soaks
A super-jeep fording a glacial river
Getting to the good water

Why Iceland, again

Why I'm going back

"Not to sightsee, but to get into the water."

Iceland has a whole culture of bathing: geothermal lagoons, hot rivers you walk to, seaside saunas, and cold water right beside the heat. Spending a week moving slowly through all of it is the best way I know to rest.

So I'm going back in 2027. The dates and itinerary aren't set yet. When they are, this list hears first.

See you in the water.
